Discover how the new smoke alarm legislation affects you.
The new smoke alarm legislation affects every rental property in Queensland. Landlords and property managers must ensure that their rental properties comply before 1st January 2022. QFES have advised that the penalty for non-compliance is $500 and will be strictly enforced.
This legislation change will cost Queensland landlords approximately $400 million.
The cost to affected landlords will be between $500 – $2000 per property.
Together we can dramatically reduce the cost of compliance for all Queensland landlords.
